2018 Toyota Camry Review

When it comes to the typical midsized family sedan, there are a few vehicle makes and models that immediately spring to mind. At the forefront of these is the Toyota Camry. This vehicle delivers exactly what drivers in Brunswick, Freehold and Lawrence want and expect from a sedan, and it seems to just get better and better with each new model year.

The debut of the 2018 model year is right around the corner, and enthusiasts of this kind of vehicle are always eager to find out what a new model will bring to the table. Check out a thorough breakdown of what the 2018 Toyota Camry has to offer, in terms of features, performance and more, and where to take a test drive.

2018 Toyota Camry

Here's the exciting news: the 2018 Toyota Camry has been completely redesigned from front to back. The biggest differences include a longer wheelbase for more stability, a sleek and sporty styling, and new rear suspension to deliver an even smoother ride experience. You can also now choose from two different style themes, depending on which trim level you choose.

Trim Levels and Features

The new Camry comes in five different trim levels. The base level is the L, which then steps up to the LE for added features. From there you jump to the SE and XSE which are sportier options, and the top-of-the-line XLE which gives you a full luxury experience without the expense of a luxury badge.

Just a few of the features available across trim levels include automatic headlights, heated mirrors, keyless entry and ignition, rearview camera, power adjust and heated seats, the newly upgraded Toyota Entune infotainment system which includes Siri Eyes Free technology, Bluetooth, voice commands, touchscreen interface, CD player, USB and auxiliary jacks, LED lights, automatic climate control, GPS navigation

You also get a host of safety features including lane departure warning and intervention, adaptive cruise control, frontal crash warning and automatic braking systems, and the Safety Connect emergency telematics systems.

Performance

Exact performance specifications are not yet available as of the time of this writing, but the outgoing model delivered 178 horsepower from its base 2.5-liter 4 cylinder engine, with an EPA-estimated 25 mpg in the city and 35 on the highway. This was upgradeable to a 3.5-liter V6 which kicked up 268 horsepower. It's reasonable to think the new Camry sedan will deliver at least as much power and efficiency, if not more.

Safety

The Toyota Camry has traditionally been one of the safest vehicles on the road, receiving 4-star ratings from government crash tests overall, including four stars for front impact and five stars for side impact. From the IIHS, the Camry generally gets Good ratings overall for crash tests, making it a Top Safety Pick among vehicles in its class.
