Even though the 2015 Prius is a couple of model years out, we were still excited when we saw the pictures that have leaked on the Internet. You have to admit, we talk about this hybrid a lot. But then again, so does everyone. And you can bet your bonnet that folks will be talking even more when the new model hits our South Brunswick, NJ showroom.
One of the main reasons we're stoked on this new Prius is the level of inspiration new Toyota models are taking from their conceptual counterparts. The recently unveiled 2014 Corolla, for example, took a lot of cues from the exciting Furia Concept. After seeing pictures of the NS4 prototype--which sports a chassis that draws clear Prius parallels--we hope to see nods from that car as well.
Visually, though, we may not know for a while. The pictures have sheathed the car's grille, but we can speculate that it may share some of the NS4's streamlined, sleeker features.
While we can only guess for the time being, Toyota has already provided us with some tantalizing details about the cars features and interior. The new Prius is said to be conceived with a greater level of ingenuity and improved eco-friendly performance. They're also overhauling the electrical system, but keeping the nickel-hydride batteries of previous versions.
We're also told the car will have a more luxurious feel on the inside, accentuated by a three-pronged steering wheel and updated instrument screens.
Two years is a ways off, but until then, we have plenty of great Prius models and trims to tide you over. Drop by Dayton Toyota, located right off the New Jersey Turnpike in the South Brunswick Township. We can answer any questions, or, if you'd like, set up a test drive.
