The new fourth generation 2013 Toyota RAV4 enters this year's compact crossover market with a new look, improved versatility, and enhanced fuel economy and performance. If you've been thinking of replacing your mid-sized family with a more interesting option, this small, well-equipped SUV is for you.

RAV4 Body Style and Appearance
Though the same size as the previous RAV4, the 2013 Toyota RAV4's makeover gives the little SUV a sculpted and aggressive appearance. One of the biggest changes relocates the spare tire under the floor board, enabling the rear hatch to open up instead of out. Toyota dealers of NJ are offering the 2013 Toyota RAV4 in three trim levels, LE, XLE, and Limited. LE and XLE models are finished off with 17 inch wheels, while 18 inch are standard fare on the Limited.

RAV4 Interior
Though Toyota's smallest SUV, the Toyota RAV4 still leads its class in interior space. By letting go of the three row seating option, the 2013 RAV4 benefits from improved legroom in both rows, and rear seats with an adjustable backrest. The RAV4 offers a quiet ride, with comfortable, firmly bolstered front bucket seats with great support. Controls and displays offer clear views of information and are easily accessible. Standard fare on all models includes a 6.1 inch LCD touch screen display with backup camera and Bluetooth, full power, A/C, cruise, and more. The XLE offers sunroof, dual zone climate control, heated side mirrors, fog lights, and the option of Entune multimedia system with voice control, navigation, and satellite radio. The Limited trim line offers a leather-like Softex clad wheel, shifter and seats, keyless, power driver's seat, heated front seats, power adjustable liftgate, and option of a rear cross-traffic alert feature, navigation system with Entune, and JBL audio.

Cargo room is ample and impressive, with 60/40 folding rear seats helping the Toyota RAV4 offer the most cargo space in its class, 73.4 cubic feet. With seats folded, the little SUV can carry a 43x74 inch piece of building material. With the hatch ajar and loading at an angle, it can even accommodate full 4x8 sheets. With one of the lowest rear loading floors in its class, it is easy to lift and store heavy or bulky objects in the cargo hold as well.

Get Your Motor Running
All trim levels offer the same motor. Gone is the 3.5 liter V6. The new engine is a port injected 2.5 liter 4 cylinder, with 273 lb-ft of torque and 176 horsepower, paired with a new six speed automatic transmission. Sport mode quickens throttle response and sharpens steering, while Eco mode mutes throttle response in favor of fuel economy. The new transmission helps the Toyota RAV4 shine in acceleration tests, with a zero to sixty time of 8.2 seconds, (7 seconds in Sport mode) and a quarter mile time of 16.5 seconds at 85 mph, offering improved passing and merging ability. The 2013 Toyota RAV4 is available in front wheel or on-demand four wheel drive. Fuel economy is an impressive 24 city, 31 highway on front wheel drive models, and 22 city, 29 highway on all wheel drive models. Electrically assisted steering provides quick response, and the crossover's low road height offers drivers car-like handling.

The First SUV with a Backup Camera
The first SUV with a backup camera and blindspot mirror, the Toyota RAV4 offers standard safety equipment such as anti-lock disc brakes, stability and traction control, front head restraints, front-seat side airbags, full-length side curtain airbags, and driver knee airbag.
