Safety.

Do you treat it as the first priority of any vehicle, or more of a "just-in-case" afterthought? How important are safety features on a car?

Toyota is re-focusing on safety features that prevent accidents from ever occurring, so that you never have to find out.

Toyota Safety Sense focuses on three main causes of traffic collisions: drifting out of lanes, poor night visibility, and frontal collisions.

Lane departure warning can help keep you maintain lanes. Automatic high beams detect headlights and tail lights of surrounding traffic, and dim the high beams automatically. When it is dark again, the high beams automatically come back on.

The most exciting feature, however, is the pre-collision system. This allows your Toyota to detect cars in front of you, and predict the likelihood of a collision based on projected path, and relative speed of the cars. If a possible collision is detected, the car will warn you. If the likelihood of a collision is high, and immediate, the vehicle may brake for you to prevent a crash or reduce damage.
