If you're still not convinced on the cost saving high gas mileage of the new 2013 Toyota Prius you may want to look into a recent study by the National Insurance Crime Bureau. The study indicates that Prius theft rate between 2008-2010 was one in 606 compared to one in 78 for all other cars.

A reason why thieves are not attracted to the fuel efficient hybrids are because the extremely complex parts are hard to sell. Chop shops are primarily interested in cars that have parts that can fit into numerous different models and cars. As an example, 1994 Honda Civics, were the most commonly stolen vehicles in 2011. It is speculated that this is due to the fact that the parts of the 1994 Civic is interchangeable for many different model years. "It could be that auto thieves are going to steal something for which there generally a market need for the parts," says Frank Scafidi, spokesman for the NICB.1

If the savings on fuel efficiency isn't enough to convert you to our environmentally friendly Toyota Priuses, we hope the fact that they are relatively low on thieves radar will be. There are few things worse than having your brand new car stolen and it is reassuring to our customers that Priuses are the least stolen cars.
