We here at Dayton Toyota are firm believers in the performance and utility found in the Tundra full-size pickup truck, but even we were a bit skeptical upon hearing that it would be towing the Space Shuttle Endeavor to its final resting place. After all, it's one thing to tow a trailer; it's something entirely different to haul a 150,000-pound space craft.

That said, we were on the edge of our seats watching as the Tundra did its job. It towed the Space Shuttle Endeavor across a bridge over the course of five minutes that seemed to last forever. And while the fact that the Tundra was successful certainly speaks volumes to the tenacity of Toyota trucks, a good amount of credit is also due to the Sarens Group.

An engineering firm that specializes in moving objects that are larger than life, they created a special dolly that was critical to moving the Endeavor over the bridge. In other words, they made the move possible in the first place.

Of course, we realize you may be wondering why Toyota opted to attempt such an impressive feat. At a glance, it might just seem like the company is simply trying to flex its performance arm. Upon a closer inspection, however, we found out that Toyota is actually a 20-year sponsor of the California Science Center, which is where the Space Shuttle Endeavor is now on display.

If you're interested in learning more about how the Toyota Tundra pulled off this amazing feat, we'd be happy to set you up for a test drive in one, share its specs (horsepower, torque, etc.), and even help you acquire a car loan or Toyota lease - should you decide it's the right truck for you. The same also goes for any other new or used Toyota we carry at 2291 US Route 130 S. in Brunswick as well, so be sure to contact us today.
