In the area surrounding Chicago, Illinois, there are 112 Toyota dealerships and 70 local Toyota associates, and Toyota has wasted no time in investing money and energy into building a solid foundation for this major section of the Toyota network. As such, they recently broke ground at a new Toyota Training Center in nearby Aurora, the result of a $4.9 million investment.
When the 15,000 square foot center is completed next summer, it will contain three classrooms and 12 high-tech service bays. Employees from the 112 dealerships and other local associates will benefit from training in the facility, which will have a larger impact on the Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota and Wisconsin areas.
Kevin Fletcher, General Manager of Toyota's Chicago region explains, "We're excited to be adding this vital training facility to our regional headquarters in Aurora. It's a significant investment that will ultimately benefit our company's technical efforts as well as those of our dealer body."1
