Dayton Toyota, serving the South Brunswick area, is happy to announce that Toyota achieved its best month in years last month thanks to a modest 1 percent gain in March compared with 2012 numbers and a large boost from the luxury Lexus lineup.
This means that Toyota had its best sales month since the "Cash for Clunkers" program in August 2009. The sales were up thanks to a huge rise from luxury brand Lexus, at 15.1 percent, with increases of 28.6 percent for the Lexus RX crossover and gains of 116.4 percent for the Lexus ES luxury sedan.
As far as the Toyota lineup is concerned, the redesigned Toyota Avalon sales doubled compared with last year's numbers, and the ever-popular Toyota Corolla saw gains of 11.1 percent.
Toyota's truck and SUV line also gained impressive numbers. The Toyota Venza crossover, the Toyota Sienna minivan, and the Toyota 4Runner off-roader all saw impressive double-digit gains.
Bob Carter, senior vice president of automotive operations for Toyota Motor Sales USA Inc., states, "A strong first-quarter close and increased consumer confidence continue to position the auto industry as a leader in the economic recovery."1
