Toyota and its partner the Wyland Foundation have launched their second annual National Mayor's Challenge for Water Conservation, and Dayton Toyota, serving the South Brunswick area, is happy to part of such an eco-friendly auto company's network.

The challenge takes place throughout Earth Month, ending April 30, 2013, and it encourages participants to show their commitment to natural resource conservation by taking an online pledge.

During last year's challenge, participants from 1,000 cities in all 50 states made their pledges to save a total of 4.7 billion gallons of water over the next year, adding up to potential cost savings of $11.6 million. Participants also pledged to reduce their consumption of single-use plastic water bottles by 1.1 million bottles- thereby eliminating 60,000 pounds of hazardous waste from entering the system.

City residents are divided into categories depending on their population numbers. One winning city will be selected in each of the categories, and a Toyota Prius c hybrid will be awarded to a participant in one of these winning cities in a random drawing. A second prize drawing will occur among all challenge entries, regardless of whether their cities were chosen. This prize is a $1,000 Lowe's shopping spree.

What are you waiting for, reader? Take the online pledge here (http://www.wylandfoundation.org/mywaterpledge/). Even if you aren't chosen as a winner, the environment will certainly be dubbed one! And, don't' forget to stay tuned here with Dayton Toyota. We always have the latest news, along with our incredible selection of new and used Toyota vehicles at our convenient 2291 US Route 130 S.
