In case you haven't heard yet, there's a brand new Toyota Corolla incoming for the next model year. Based off of the Furia concept, it has an aggressively-presented front end and grille, and tweaked, dynamic line work. What could make this car better, you ask? If it was offered as a hybrid.

It would seem that Toyota has heard our prayers--at least, in part. They recently announced production of a Corolla Hybrid, which will be available over in Japan for the upcoming model year. Will we see it stateside? We think it's likely. Hybrids account for 20 percent of the cars on the road in Japan, and in the U.S., the number is supposed to triple in the next three years.

Another reason why we can probably expect the Corolla Hybrid to hit our shores has to do with Toyota's goals for their hybrid production. The automaker's aiming to offer 21 hybrid vehicles over the next three years in efforts to further push gasoline-electric cars further into the mainstream than ever. Here at Dayton Toyota, we believe it's only a matter of time.

While we wait for the Corolla and it's possible hybrid counterpart, there are plenty of great hybrid cars to choose from in our showroom, such as the Camry Hybrid, the Highlander Hybrid, and of course, the Prius.
