We have always known that Toyota is committed to its North American drivers and now we have the proof to back it up. Recently, Toyota officials announced that they plan on bolstering North American production as soon as 2015.
Some of our fans out in Freehold, Lawrenceville and North Brunswick may not be aware of this fact, but around 70% of all new Toyota models are produced here in North America. We are happy that this number, while certainly high, isn't high enough for Toyota officials. Already our popular models like the 2013 Toyota Camry, 2013 Corolla and 2013 Tacoma are produced in North America. Toyota hopes to bring the production of its popular models in North America to the same continent.
With the help of a $1.6 billion investment, Toyota officials feel that they will be able to start producing vehicles like our 2013 Toyota Prius in North America in addition to creating 3,500 jobs. We are happy to represent a brand so committed to the American workforce. It is reassuring to us when an automaker brings jobs into the area rather than outsourcing them.
