At last week's SEMA Show that recently wrapped up in Las Vegas, Toyota decided to do something special to commemorate the departure of a beloved friend. If you weren't aware already, this is the final year that the iconic Toyota FJ Cruiser will be included in the Toyota product line. That is why our favorite Japanese automaker introduced us to the 2014 FJ Cruiser Trail Teams Ultimate Edition.

The Trail Teams Ultimate Edition was designed for the best possible performance in off-road scenarios. Company officials said that the vehicle design and detail is meant to be reminiscent of the first FJ40s that were built back in the 1960s. This special edition model was sporting a new "Heritage Blue" paintjob and a standout white painted grille that gave the whole SUV a very classy appeal.

The Trail Teams Ultimate Edition was about way more than looks and it is clear that engineers at Toyota had a difficult time squeezing in all the great new underpinnings that make this unique off-roader such a beast. Thank goodness they had some help from the good people at Toyota Racing Development (TRD).

The short list of added features includes: off-road suspension with TRD Bilstein race shocks, TRD race coil springs, TRD quarter-inch aluminum skid plate, TRD 16-inch bead lock wheels, roof rack, and rock rails.

It was also announced that Toyota will only produce 2,500 units. If you think this is the type of hardcore special edition vehicle for you, then you better get one before they are gone.
