Head to historic Princeton University on Thursday night for a special pyrotechnic Independence Day display! View these brilliant boomers in the university's sports field adjacent to the stadium. Grab a bite to eat at one of downtown Princeton's many restaurants beforehand or bring a summer picnic dinner to enjoy on the lawn. Celebrate with friends and family until the sun drifts down and vibrant fireworks light up the night sky above the university's iconic landscape.

Maplewood Fourth of July Celebration, Maplewood Memorial Park

South Brunswick residents can take a day trip up north to share in Maplewood's famous Fourth of July Celebration. With a history of 112 years of celebrating Independence Day in high style, Maplewood puts on a full day of patriotic festivities.

A 5K run kicks off bright and early at 7 am. The July heat welcomes an ice cream eating contest for all ages - just try not to get brain freeze! Maplewood also holds softball and tennis competitions, karaoke duels, and shows by the Zerbini Family Circus throughout the day under the big top.

After a full day of festivities and entertainment, settle into Maplewood Memorial Park's gently sloping terrain for an up-close-and-personal fireworks spectacular.

Monroe Township Fireworks & Festivities, Thompson Park

About 7 miles from South Brunswick, Monroe Township will offer a range of activities in honor of the Fourth of July starting at 5 pm. Kids' crafts, pony rides, and the park's petting zoo are sure to be a hit with little ones. Adults will be able to enjoy tasty eats and treats from local food vendors, live music and entertainment, strolling Thompson's hiking trails, and kicking back in the shade of leafy trees. The evening concludes with an epic fireworks display at 9:30 pm.
