Performance

The Toyota Sienna is an outstanding family vehicle that allows eight passengers to travel safely and comfortably, while being aesthetically pleasing and handling well. Under the hood is a 266-hp, 3.5 liter, V-6 engine and the Sienna's electric power steering and independent suspension make for a simplistic and comfortable drive. There have also been tuning changes and new welds that improve ride and refinement. This minivan drives so smoothly that it can even be easily maneuvered through city roads.

The 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan only offers front-wheel drive, a 6-speed automatic transmission and a V-6 engine, which yields 283 horsepower. It handles well but bumps are less comfortable than they should be.

Exterior/Interior

The 2016 Toyota Sienna hasn't received any major styling updates in 2016, as 2015's improvements remain. From the outside, it's shape is straightforward with smooth edges and straight lines that round at the corners. It's not glamorous but it is an attractive and sleek minivan. Within the cabin, the Sienna is spacious to say the least. Slim but comfortable seats amplify the spacious feel and are attractively decked upholstery with high quality fibers.

The 2016 Dodge Caravan is a 7-seater with supportive, comfortable seats. If you are traveling on a long distance trip, you can transform the last row seat to a deep cargo; Dodge Caravan has enough space for your luggage.

Features

The 2016 Toyota Sienna is packed with features, one of the main selling points being that it is the only minivan to offer all-wheel drive, which is an option on the top three trim levels. The five different levels include L, LE, SE, XLE, and Limited, but Toyota doesn't skimp on the base features. These include power windows, locks and mirrors, three-zone air conditioning, keyless entry, automatic headlights, a rearview camera and touch screen AM/FM/CD audio system with auxiliary jack. New for 2016 is the Entune connectivity system which features smartphone-driven navigation and SiriEyesFree.

The 2016 Grand Caravan comes in four trim levels: AVP, SE, SXT, and R/T. Each comes with air conditioning, power mirrors, locks and front windows, cruise control, and keyless entry.

Safety

The 2016 Toyota Sienna has anti-lock disc brakes that are stable and traction-controlled. It is has side airbags on the front seat, driver's knee airbag, front head restraints and a side curtain airbag that is full-length. The IIHS gave the Sienna "Good" ratings in all categories.

The 2016 Dodge Caravan has airbags on the front of driver's seat, head restraints and anti-lock disk brakes. Unfortunately, the IIHS gave the Caravan a "Poor" rating for the small-overlap test.
