Through the small town of Titusville, PA runs Oil Creek. It seems an ordinary river by most means, but a hundred years ago, it would be covered in a thin black film of oil. The natural oil springs that bubbled up in this town drew the attention of Colonel Edwin Drake, who built the first production-scale oil wells in the United States.

Titusville found itself on the map as the birthplace of the transportation revolution. Oil drilled from their town would fuel the budding automotive industry, and keep wheels rolling across America.

Now, a new transportation revolution is beginning-- the hydrogen revolution.

Using a process called electrolysis, water from Oil Creek is transformed into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is compressed, and used to fuel anything from a NASA rocket, to the Toyota Mirai. This historic town is once again taking center stage as a place that helps fuel the nation.
