Toyota Corolla vs Chevy Cruze Comparison

When it comes to the Corolla vs. the Cruze, the Toyota Corolla has a few minor changes. These changes include an upgraded audio system with a touchscreen and a revised grille. These changes are made to the upper trim levels. The Corolla also has Special Edition versions of the S and LE trims. They have additional luxury features and unique color schemes.

The Chevy Cruze has enhanced safety and infotainment features. It also includes a rear-view camera, Bluetooth audio streaming, and blind spot monitoring. This vehicle is compact and fuel efficient with nice handling capability. It is quick and responsive in traffic as well. 

Body Styles and Trim Levels

The Corolla is a five-passenger compact sedan. The trim levels available are L, LE, LE Special Edition, S, and S Special Edition versions. The features for the standard L model include 15-inch steel wheels, air conditioning, key-less entry, power accessories, a driver's seat which is height adjustable, a steering wheel that telescopes and tilts, an auxiliary audio jack, a 60/40 split folding back seat, a CD player with a four-speaker sound system, and a trip computer. 

The LE Corolla adds 16-inch wheels, cruise control, steering wheel audio controls, variable intermittent wipers, Bluetooth, heated mirrors, 6-speaker sound system along with a 6-inch touchscreen display, iPod/USB connectivity, auxiliary audio jack, and Bluetooth audio streaming.  

On the S model there are fog lamps available, upgraded cloth upholstery, a rear spoiler, a sporty body kit, and metallic interior trim.  There is an optional package available on the S and LE models. 

It is called the Premium package, which adds upgraded wheels and a sunroof as well.  The interior for this particular package adds features to the Corolla LE.  The features are automatic headlights, automatic climate control, eight-way power driver's seat, and a steering wheel that is leather wrapped.  There is also smartphone integration through Toyota's Entune system, satellite radio, and a touchscreen navigation system with voice control features. 

The Chevy Cruze has four trim levels available: the LS, Eco, LT, and LTZ.  The LS version consists of 16-inch steel wheels, a tilt and telescoping steering wheel with audio controls, key-less entry, OnStar, a 60/40 split back seat, a 6-way manual adjustable driver's seat, air conditioning, full power accessories, a trip computer, a CD/MP3 player with a 6-speaker sound system, Bluetooth phone connectivity, an auxiliary audio jack, a USB port, and satellite radio. 

Engine and Performance

The Corolla has 1.8-liter inline 4-cylinder engine that generates 132 horsepower.  It has a five-speed automatic transmission that comes standard.  The four-speed automatic transmission is optional.  The estimated fuel economy is 26 miles per gallon city and 34 highway.  The automatic combined mileage is 29 miles per gallon.

Safety

The Corolla's safety features include anti-lock brakes, stability control, side curtain airbags that are full length, front and rear side airbags, and front knee airbags.

The Cruz has anti-lock brakes, traction and stability control, and side curtain and front seat airbags.

The Corolla is priced at $17,040, while the Cruze's price is a bit higher at  $17,940.
